About a Hairy Situation

It's almost that time of year of sunblock, shorts, relaxing on the beach and oh yeah shaving! I bet you are still stuck on the No Shave November mentality but we are already in the month of February!! Hard to believe, I know so take out your razors, waxing kits or depilator machines and get rid of your hairy business.

When I was in the 6th grade, all my friends were allowed to shave but I was not. We all had P.E our second semester and I was embarrassed to wear shorts but we were required to for a grade. So I took my mom's depilator cream one night and rubbed it on both legs and quickly washed it off hoping it would do the trick and went to bed. The next day in gym class I was confident in wearing my shorts. As I'm changing in the locker room I see patches of hair that didn't wash off. I most definitely did not want to wear my shorts any more. I knew the other girls would notice but I had no other choice then to go out to like  I made it through the entire period  but I was dying inside. After that day, I talked to my mom and asked her if she would allow me to shave, she understood and was ok with it. Now that I'm 21, I don't want to shave.

Getting rid of our unwanted hair takes so much work, some of us just shave our legs but there are others who also get rid of their underarms hair, upper lip, eyebrows and not to mention our best friend down there. Us girls don't judge, we help each other out ;-) Here's a link for a DIY at home wax using sugar, honey and lemon juice. http://www.diynatural.com/sugar-wax-recipe-how-to-make/
If you try it out, let me know if it worked out for you. Talk to you next week, thank you for reading.

About a Bad Hair Day

Today was not one of those days where I wake up early and have time to get ready. Instead it was a day where my alarm did not go off and I woke up late! How can this be? As I'm rushing to get ready for work. I check my alarm and it was programmed to ring at pm not am like it was supposed to. I'm trying to brush my teeth and put on my socks at the same time. I am all dressed and don't know what to do with my hair....

I am remembering when I was younger my dad would style my hair before he took me to school. He would wet my hair and comb it all the way back. He would then slap some gel and finish it off, I remember feeling like a boy. I was embarrassed to show up to school with my hair styled like a boy. I would quickly put it up in a ponytail as soon as I was dropped off at school.

What are your favorite quick and easy hairstyles to save you from a bad hair day? Mine has always been a ponytail whether it was high up and center of my head or low and lazy. To be honest I am just starting to get the hang of braids but there is a saying out there that goes like this "the messier (the braid), the better". So I'll leave you all with that to think about. If you'd like a tutorial on how to's and so comment below and let me know. Until next time!
